I've known Chantal now for three years. Her story is pretty heartbreaking and I've done what I can to personally help her, which has included activating good people like yourself to donate funds for her and her family's survival. Right now, her family includes Mackenson, her nephew who she has raised since he was knee-high as he lost his parents during the strife that has been Haiti for decades. She has also been in a long-term relationship with Gymson.

Please help me get this family to the Dominican Republic. They need $100 each for visas, bus fare, and money to stay there until we find an apartment. They have very little stuff as most was lost in the earthquake: they lived in Carrfour, which was the center of the quake. Through wonderful contacts, we are finding an apartment for them in Santo Domingo. I will bring necessary things to them when a place is found, which should be soon. They will need help in surviving until they can recover from this incredible shock and find jobs.

Please make a donation. You will know exactly who you are helping and I will keep you posted with pictures and info as to how they are doing. While any funding would be appreciated, please commit to sending a regular amount for one year. $10 a month would be great, more would be wonderful. I really can't do this on my own and my agency has so little descretionary funding - definitely not enough to support this family. Your donation will be used 100% to help: I will donate my and my agency's time to sending food and setting things up for this family.
